1998 Training Classes

A Towman's Association for All Towmen

1998's Class

Heavy Duty - Thanks to the generous support of sponsor Miller Industries, GSTA presented a very successful heavy-duty towing and recovery seminar on October 10th and 11th 1998.  Miller exposed the fifty students who attended the two-day seminar held at the Dempster Fire Academy in Lawrenceville, NJ to the newest in state-of-the-art heavy-duty equipment.  The trucks, supplied by host distributor Elizabeth Truck Center, included a sixty ton rotator, 50-25 Century and a 30-35 Challenger.

The weekend began with Saturday morning being spent on classroom training.  Instructed by Tom Luciano and Joe Sroga, industry leaders in education, the attendees were given technical instruction on extensive recovery situations.  The remainder of the weekend was spent doing hands-on training that included step by step recoveries where the equipment was put to the test.  Demonstrations included uprighting loaded tractor trailers as well as tanker trucks stuck in dry wells and loaded trailer rollovers.  Students were afforded the opportunity to participate in these recovery situations.

Light Duty - Instructed by Tom Luciano and Joe Sroga, our light duty class covered towing and recovery techniques.
